Run your lodge to a standard worth emulating

Everything your Secretary, Treasurer, Almoner and caterer need in one place — meetings, members, dining, attendance and accounts, without the paperwork. Built with working lodges in Worcestershire and beyond.

Everything your lodge needs

  • Attendance & Check-In — Record attendance with QR codes or location-based check-in at your venue, and keep a full history of who attended which meeting.
  • Members Directory & RSVP — See who's in your lodge, RSVP for the next meeting, and view the attendee list with privacy controls.
  • Officer Progression — See who is in line for which office, track the route to the Chair, and plan succession before the year turns.
  • Meetings, Dining & Visitors — Schedule meetings, manage seating plans, handle visitor bookings with online payments, and collect dining selections with menu choices.
  • Treasurer Tools — Track balances, record payments and manage lodge finances. Optionally take card payments for dining straight into your lodge's own bank account.
  • Almoner Welfare Diary — Confidential case management with follow-up reminders. Restricted to the lodge Almoner.
  • Caterer Portal — Your building's caterer gets a dedicated portal with all meal plans and dietary requirements per member, sent straight to the kitchen.
  • Secure & Private — Password-protected content with each lodge on its own secure subdomain. Secretary tools for members, meetings, visitors and seating.

How it works

  1. Secretary registers the lodge — Complete the lodge sign-up form in a couple of minutes.
  2. Your lodge address is activated — You'll receive a dedicated lodge login address like wythall.emulationcompanion.co.uk.
  3. Members log in and use the tools — Members can view meetings, RSVP, track progress, and access lodge features.

What it costs

There is no charge to use Emulation Companion at present — every feature is included, with no card required and no invoice for your Treasurer. If a charge is ever introduced, lodges will be told well in advance. Separately, a lodge can optionally connect its own Stripe account to take card payments for dining and visitor bookings; that money goes straight to the lodge’s own bank account. See what it costs for details.

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost?

Nothing at the moment. There is no charge to use Emulation Companion, no card to enter and nothing for your Treasurer to settle.

Will it always be free?

We cannot promise that. If costs arise that have to be passed on — licensing ritual content, for example, would carry a fee — a charge may be introduced. If that happens we will tell every lodge well in advance, and no lodge would ever be billed without agreeing first.

Why is it called Emulation Companion?

Emulation means the endeavour to equal or excel in qualities or actions that one admires in another — from the Latin aemulari, "to strive to excel". The platform is named for that ambition: helping your lodge run as well as the best-run lodge you know. Emulation Companion is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Emulation Lodge of Improvement or any ritual publisher, and it does not provide ritual content.

Can members pay for dining by card?

Yes, if your lodge wants to. A lodge can connect its own Stripe account and collect card payments for dining and visitor bookings at the point of RSVP. The money goes straight to your lodge's bank account rather than through us, and the card fee is added to the payer's total so the lodge receives the full amount. It is optional — cash, cheque and bank transfer carry on working exactly as before.

Who can access Almoner notes?

Almoner welfare cases are confidential and restricted to the lodge Almoner. The Secretary can assign the Almoner role but cannot view case details.
