Security and data protection

Lodges trust Emulation Companion with member details, attendance records and ritual study progress. That trust is the foundation of the platform, and protecting it shapes how every feature is built.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored securely on servers managed by us with a UK-based hosting provider, with encrypted backups held separately. Full details of what we collect and why are in our Privacy Policy.

Each lodge is isolated

Every lodge runs on its own secure subdomain with password-protected accounts. Members are added by invitation from the lodge Secretary or Administrator — there is no open registration.

Ritual content is degree-gated

Ritual study material is controlled strictly by degree: each member can only see content up to and including their own degree. Entered Apprentices see the first degree, Fellow Crafts the first and second, and Master Masons all three.

Confidential roles stay confidential

Almoner welfare cases are restricted to the lodge Almoner alone — the Secretary can assign the Almoner role but cannot view case details. Members also have privacy controls over what other lodge members can see in the directory.

Your rights

You can request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, or exercise your other rights under UK data protection law at any time. Our Privacy Policy explains how, and privacy enquiries can be sent to [email protected].
