Emulation Companion is a digital platform for the administration of Masonic lodges — meetings, attendance, dining, members, finances and pastoral care, in one place.
It is independently built and operated in the United Kingdom, developed hand-in-hand with working lodges in Worcestershire to fit how a lodge actually runs — from the Secretary's paperwork to the Treasurer's accounts and the caterer's kitchen sheet.
Emulation means the endeavour to equal or excel in qualities or actions that one admires in another — from the Latin aemulari, "to rival, to strive to excel". It is not imitation, and it is not rivalry for its own sake: it is the ambition to reach a standard you admire.
That is the whole idea behind the platform. Every Mason knows a lodge that runs beautifully — where the summons goes out on time, the Treasurer's books balance, the caterer gets the right numbers and nobody is chased twice for the same thing. Emulation Companion exists to help any lodge reach that standard.
Emulation Companion is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Emulation Lodge of Improvement or any ritual publisher, and it does not provide ritual content.
Most lodge administration still lives in spreadsheets, group emails and paper. The Secretary chases RSVPs, the Treasurer reconciles by hand, and the kitchen is told the numbers by phone the night before. Emulation Companion brings it into one place: the Secretary manages members, meetings and visitors; the Treasurer keeps the accounts and takes payments; the Almoner keeps confidential welfare notes; the caterer gets exactly what the kitchen needs.
The platform is shaped by how lodges actually operate — offices and progression, the summons, the festive board, dining numbers and dietary requirements, visitors and their fees. It is built with working lodges rather than adapted from a generic membership tool.
